  Oak Hall Table

Materials: Black Oak
Dimensions: 31” x 16” x 60”

The hardwood for this handmade table was salvaged from a local large black oak tree. So many trees that are taken down in urban areas or on private property end up in land fills. I use salvaged or reclaimed lumber whenever I can.

This table was inspired by American Shaker furniture designs. The side and back aprons are attached to the table legs using pinned mortise and tenon joints. The bottom and top front rails are attached using dovetail joints. The drawers are joined using hand cut dovetails and the drawer bottoms are book matched solid black oak. The top is also book matched. The table was first stained and then a tung oil, linseed oil and urethane wipe-on mixture finish was applied.
