  Walnut Hall Table

Materials: Tennessee Black Walnut
Dimensions: 31” x 16” x 60”

I purchased the black walnut for this handmade table from a farmer in Tennessee. The tree came down in a storm and the farmer had it milled into planks. I air dried the rough planks for two years. This air dried black walnut was filled with beautiful chocolate browns and purples.

The side and back aprons are attached to the table legs using pinned mortise and tenon joints. The bottom and top front rails are attached using dovetail joints. The drawers are joined using hand cut dovetails and the drawer bottoms are book matched solid black walnut. The top is also book matched. The table was finished with a tung oil, linseed oil and urethane wipe-on mixture.
