Switching to a new news format!

In an effort to keep better track of the various professional developments that occur in my time here in Auburn, I decided it was time to succumb to the "blog format." Don't worry, you won't be subject to the inner convolutions of my crazy scientist mind--just advertising for the latest conference I'll be shipping off to or manuscript I finally get accepted, along with whatever bird- and PhD-related nonsense pops up in the mean time.

For starters, here's a photo from the lovely botanical gardens in Anchorage, AK. I was working furiously to snap a photo of a soggy black-capped chickadee, who had been enjoying a frolic in a sprinkler.
